The Cedar Glen Observatory is located in California, near Lake Arrowhead, at an elevation of 1530 meters. The CGO, recognized by the IAU (International Astronomy Union) with observatory code U78, was primarily used for MPO work (minor planet observations) before its purchase from the original owner in 2021. With new instruments housed within the same facility, it will serve as a place for observing the universe that surrounds our planet and the macro and microscopic worlds on its surface. Stay tuned…

The observatory is approximately 4.5m² in size and utilizes a 2.5m Observadome. A spiral staircase leads from a 9.3m² heated control room to the dome that currently houses a Celestron C14 “Fastar” Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. Due to its location on the northeast side of the San Bernardino range, on-shore overcast from the pacific ocean rarely causes viewing problems. Limiting visual and telescope magnitudes run from 6.0-7.0 and 14-16, respectively.
